TMBC LAKE SARDIS RESULTS
APRIL 14th 2007
The Tracker Marine Bass Circuit held the second stop of the tournament trail season Saturday April 14th on Lake Sardis. Preliminary reports of big fish being caught kept coming in to the Backyard Bassin staff. Hitting Lake Sardis at just the right time could mean very big sacks of fish being weighed in. Then when you least expect it Mother Nature throws everyone a curve. Heavy rains, hail storms and very high winds greeted the tournament anglers Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
The high winds forced the tournament directors to allow trailoring for the safety of the anglers and their equipment. The weather was also the blame for the cancellation of some of the favorite events at the tournament. The flipping contest and product demos had to be cancelled for the Sardis tournament. These events are all scheduled for the Lake Eufaula tournament.
52 teams braved the elements and the waves of Lake Sardis Saturday morning at safe light. The team of Baker / Kirkes found themselves on top of the leader board at the end on the day. They brought in a five fish limit weighing 14.54 pounds. Their sack was anchored by the big bass of the tournament weighing 6.98 pounds. This team took home over $2,800.00 at the end of a long hard day on the water. Congratulations men!
Second place went to the team of Hughes / Kirby. They also brought in a five fish limit weighing 13.63. Their total weight paid them $1,400.00 for their efforts.
The team of Hardy / Lynn took third place honors. This duo only brought four fish to the scales, but they had a kicker fish to push their weight to 11.74 pounds. Their big bass of 6.72 pounds earned them 2nd place big bass and a $50.00 gift card to Bass Pro Shops.
Backyard Bassin Team Tournament Trails would like to thank all of the anglers, spectators and sponsors that helped us with the Lake Sardis tournament. We look forward to seeing everyone May 5th on Lake Eufaula.
