Backyard Bassin held their first tournament of the fall/winter tournament trail season October 15th 2006 at Lake Murray. The biggest story of the day was the weather. With southern Oklahoma receiving over 3" of rain during the tournament, the conditions were very tough to say the least. The turnout was still excellent with 35 teams competing for $3975.50 in cash and prizes.

The team of Reeves & Gardner topped all teams with an excellent weight of 12.12 pounds. They also took big bass honors with a 4.06 pound Black Bass. Second place went to Pittman & Pittman with a good limit of bass weighing 10.53 pounds. Rounding out the top three teams was Fuller & Forbes with another nice weight of 7.97 pounds.

There were several prizes and awards given out during the weigh-in. The early bird drawing went to Coffman & Lightner . They won two Quantum rods just for sending their entry in before the entry deadline. Jeff Kriet's Outdoor Headquarters sponsored the flipping contest. Jason Pittman won a flip off against Rick Dusek to take home a new Castaway rod. Donations benefiting The March of Dimes were accepted during the contest.

Backyard Bassin would like to thank all of the anglers, sponsors and volunteers for their contributions at the Murray Tournament. Our first stop on the tournament trail was a success and we are thankful for ALL of the help! We look forward to seeing everyone November 5th 2006 at Lake Texoma (Catfish Bay) for our second trail stop.
