TOURNAMENT RESULTS
LAKE TEXOMA
Backyard Bassin held their second tournament of the fall/winter tournament trail season November 5th 2006 at Lake Texoma. Unlike our first stop, the weather was almost perfect for fall fishing. With heavy low clouds and light winds, we knew there would be several nice fish weighed in. The turnout was excellent with 43teams competing for $4870.00 in cash and prizes. A payback of over 113%
The father son team of Kevin Hitt & Kenneth Hitt from Ardmore, Ok topped all teams with an awesome weight of 15.85 pounds. They also took big bass honors with a 6.45 pound Black Bass. Second place went to the Texas based team of Jeff Nichols & Jereme Dietz with a limit of bass weighing 13.84 pounds. Rounding out the top three teams was Joe Johnson & Brian Mantzey from Durant, Ok with another nice weight of 12.81 pounds.
There were several prizes and awards given out during the weigh-in. The early bird drawing went to Warlick & Shelton. They won two BPS rods just for sending their entry in before the entry deadline. Jeff Kriet's Outdoor Headquarters once again sponsored the flipping contest. Kevin Hitt won the flipping contest to take home a new Castaway rod and $100.00 cash donated by John Davenport and The Ardmore Car Auction. Donations benefiting The March of Dimes were accepted during the contest.
Backyard Bassin would like to thank all of the anglers, sponsors and volunteers for their contributions at the Lake Texoma Tournament. A big thanks goes out to two of our sponsors: Farmers Insurance agent Darren Rudd and John Davenport from The Ardmore Car Auction for the wonderful lunch they provided for all the anglers and tournament staff.We look forward to seeing everyone December 10th 2006 at Lake Of The Arbuckles (Guy Sandy ramp)for our third trail stop.
