Fall / Winter Trail Championship Results

Twenty-one teams braved cool temperatures and 20-30 mile per hour winds on Saturday February 17, 2007. The tournament anglers had to fish cold front conditions which made for a tough day for most of the field. All of the anglers were allowed to trailer their boats due to the rough weather conditions. First cast were made at 7:00 am and all fish were weighed in by 3:45 at the Alberta Creek Resort.

 Topping all teams were the 2006/2007 BackYard Bassin Anglers Of the Year, Jason Pittman of Ardmore Ok. and Josh Pittman of Madill, Ok. This strong southern Oklahoma team fished crankbaits in sheltered coves to catch an awesome 5 fish limit weighing 20.34 pounds. While other teams struggled to find five keeper fish, this team was actually culling three pound keepers by 9:00 am. They also produced the big bass of the tournament, a hefty 5.25pound black bass. Congratulations men!

Second place went to the always tough Lake Texoma team of Red Rutherford and Ronnie Morrison of Durant, Ok. They weighed in an impressive five fish sack weighing 11.23 pounds anchored with a very nice 2.82 pound smallmouth.

Third place went to Eric Cook and Steve Etheridge of Duncan, Ok. This duo brought four fish to the scales weighing 6.52 pounds.

Rounding out the top four places was J. D. Kent of Durant , Ok and Bo Rhodes from Carrolton, Tx. They brought another nice sack of fish across the scales weighing 6.40 pounds.

All of the anglers were invited to an end of the year appreciation dinner Friday night. Once again a wonderful dinner was served to everyone in attendance by two of our great sponsors, Darren Rudd from Farmers Insurance in Ardmore, Ok and John Davenport with the Ardmore Car Auction located just south of Ardmore, Ok. Thanks again for all that you have done for the trail this year.

Several of our sponsors provided great prizes that were presented at the Friday night banquet. CMC Manufacturing, Keelshield, North Texas Marine, C&J Boat Services, A&M Baits and BackYard Bassin Team Tournament Trails all donated additional door prizes. A big thank you goes out to all of the sponsors, family and friends that helped make our first tournament season a big success.
