LAKE TEXOMA #2 RESULTS

The last regular season tournament of the Backyard Bassin fall/winter team tournament trail launched out of Catfish Bay Marina December 30th 2006. Big fish and heavy stringers were abundant on Lake Texoma Saturday morning. No one knew what kind of fishing conditions the lake would present with close to 2 inches of rain falling the day and night before the tournament. Fortunately for everyone the rain and wind stopped about one hour before safelight and conditions set up perfect for tournament fishing.

The team of Jay Fuller and Bill Glasscock from Kingston, Ok brought in the spectacular winning weight of 18.79 pounds. They anchored their winning five fish total with a 9.11 pound black bass that came from fishing a jig around rock points. Second place went to Jason Pittman of Ardmore, Ok and Josh Pittman from Madill, Ok with another very nice five fish limit weighing in at 17.90 pounds. The third place team of Wayne Brown and Larry Woods of Ardmore, Ok. continued the big five fish limits with 15.83 pounds. Rounding out the top 4 places was the team of Red Rutherford and Ronnie Morrison from Durant, Ok. They also brought in a big five fish limit weighing 15.04 pounds.

Once again all of the anglers were treated to a great lunch prepared by Darren Rudd from Farmers Insurance Group and John Davenport of the Ardmore Car Auction. Great job men and thanks a bunch!

The date for the Backyard Bassin's fall/winter trail championship has been set for February 17th 2007 at Alberta Creek Marina. We will have a dinner Friday night to draw boat numbers,  present the Angler of the year awards and give away several very nice prizes from our sponsors. There will also be a calcutta open to all anglers and guest. More details to come later.....
