Arbuckle Lake Results

The Backyard Bassin Fall/Winter tournament trail continued Sunday morning on beautiful Arbuckle Lake. The morning started out a little cool, but the temperature steadily rose to a very comfortable afternoon. As the 36 boats paraded out of Guy Sandy ramp, the anticipation was high with several very big fish caught during the pre-fish and practice. The high pressure system that settled over southern Oklahoma made the tournament day tough for most teams.
Several big fish were brought to the scales during weigh in, but none could top the 6.19lb. smallmouth bass that the team of Hardin & Hardin brought in. The winning team of Ainsworth & Ramsey caught an impresssive five fish sack weighing 14.97 pounds. Second place went to Reeves & Gardner with a strong tournament bag pushing the scales to 13.85 pounds. Rounding out the top three places was the father son team of Hardin & Hardin weighing in four fish that at 8.95 pounds.
The next three places were seperated by mere ounces. Fourth place went to Brown & Woods with 8.74pounds. The family team of Pittman & Pittman cashed in with 8.38 pounds. Coffman & Lightner completed the top six with their sack of 8.21 pounds.
Most anglers found the lake to be very tough on this tournament day with only three 5 fish limits weighed in. Thirteen of the thirty-six teams blanked, bringing no fish to the scales.
All the teams were treated to a wonderful lunch during the weigh in prepared by tournament sponsors Darren Rudd of Farmers Insurance and John Davenport from the Ardmore Car Auction. Thanks again guys for all of your support. The BYB staff would also like to thank all the volunteers, family and friends that continue to help support us in our first tournament season.
Our last regular trail stop will be back at Lake Texoma on December 30th. This event will be on Saturday instead of Sunday to stay clear of the New Years Holiday. Good luck and everyone pray for rain!
