Lake Eufaula Results

Backyard Bassin tournament trails went north to Lake Eufaula Sunday January 20th. The frigid temperatures and forecasted high winds kept most of the teams off of the lake for this event. The BYB staff allowed all of the thirteen teams to trailer at this event due to the weather conditions. The temperatures stayed in the mid teens throughout most of the morning, and the wind started blowing 10-15 mph later in the day. Just after noon the temperatures warmed into the mid forties and it turned out to be a pleasant day for fishing.

The team of W. Andries and  Ron Johnson took first place honors with another one of the top limits weighed in on the BYB trail. Their five fish limit weighed in at 21.57 pounds and they also had the big fish of the tournament with a nice 7.53 pound blackbass.

Second place went to the team of Jeff Booth of Owasso, OK and Mark Epps from Skiatook, OK. These new anglers to the BYB tournament trail brought another five fish limit to the scales pushing the scales to 17.81 pounds. They also had a nice kicker fish that weighed 6.06 pounds.

Third place this week went to the team that has finished in the money at every event this year. Mark Reeves of Grant, OK and Kevin Gardner from Marietta, OK brought their five fish limit to the scales and weighed a very nice sack of fish weighing 12.45 pounds.

All anglers and guest were treated to homemade chili and cold beverages at the completion of the weigh in ceremonies.

Anglers were allowed to start voting on the championship at this event. With 32 teams qualified to fish the championship, Lake Texoma won the voting by a large margin. Watch the website, media and mail for more information.
