Lake Murray Results

The Backyard Bassin Spring/Summer Tournament Trail held their fourth event of the season Sunday June 17th 2009. The tournament was held out of the North Ramp on Lake Murray. Fifty eight teams launched out on a beautiful morning for fishing. The weeks before the tournament heavy spring rains helped raise the lake up to safer fishing levels.
The first place team of Luke Palmer and Tammy Palmer from Atoka, OK brought a hefty five fish limit to the weigh in stage topping all other teams. Their winning weight of 16.06 pounds along with the tournament big bass of 8.91 pounds paid them $3,080.00 for the day.
Second place went to Dru Smith and Cameron Etheridge. The 14.30 pound five fish limit earned this strong duo $1,200.00. They wanted to thank their sponsors: The BassZone and RRCD Outfitters
Third place went to Larry Wood and Larry Wood Jr. They brought a five fish limit to the scales weighing 12.46 lbs. anchored by a nice 6.79 lb. kicker fish. The southern Oklahoma team took home $800.00 for their catch.
Denalli Custom Rods sponsored a flipping contest with all of the donations from the contest being donated to the "Road Race 2 A Cure" Cancer Run. This is an event being held in conjunction with Relay for Life. Cash Lang was this contest winner taking home a brand new Denalli Custom Rod.
Our next event is scheduled for June 28th on Lake Texoma. We will be set up at Alberta Creek Resort. Hope to see everyone there.
